DJ my Standard Rex buck
I am a proud breeder of the Standard Rex, and just for fun the Netherland Dwarf. I love their personality, multi purpose, and of course their fur(who wouldn't!). I strive to breed show quality rabbits that correspond with the Standard of Perfection. Our rabbits are very happy here in Kalispell Montana. They have a large outside cage that sits on the ground where they can run and munch on the grass, and 30x30 inch cages where they can have sun and shade. I no longer feed pellets to my rabbit after having some problem with feed but now feed straight alfalfa and grass hay, with oats for extra protein. They seem very happy on their new diet and are actually doing better I beleive. Iam a very small rabbitry but am happy with what I have!
Update: 3/28/12- Show in Great Falls was alot of fun, got alot of Best of Varietys and other nice awards with my bunnies but boy was it cold. Should be getting show results in soon :)
4/20/12-Got the show results back from Great Falls, check out the Rex and Netherland Dwarf pages to see how the bunnys did. Unfortunatly the classes were too small there for anything to count as legs.
Our story: When my sister and I were very little, about 4 and 7 yrs old we got our first rabbits. We loved them alot but did not keep them long due to issues with remembering to feed them. So we gave them to a loving home. About 7 yrs later when I was 13 and my sister 10 yrs old we convinced our parents to let us get more rabbits! We were so exciting, we received a Dutch and a pedigree'd mini rex, soon we wanted to start breeding so we sold the dutch and bought a broken castor mini rex. She has beautiful quality babies, she had many colors and varieties. Soon after my sister bought a Mini Lop and we we got a buck to match. From there we have moved from breed to breed trying to find the one we love best. We have had Mini Rex, Mini Lop, Himlayan, Netherland Dwarf, Standard Rex, Satin, Hollands, and Harlequin's. My sister has since stopped raising rabbits but i still continue happily. You can see all of our rabbits on the different tabs.
